Belle Ting, violinist and FCA laureate, was awarded the opportunity to perform a recital as part of her FCA 2025 prize. Initially scheduled to appear in duo with pianist and FCA co-founder Jean-Baptiste Doulcet, Belleâs invitation expanded into a solo concerto appearance with orchestra - a rare opportunity within one of Europeâs most high-profile festival programmes. This invitation marks the first time an FCA laureate performs a solo concerto within the official orchestral series of La Folle JournĂ©e de Nantes. It reflects both the high artistic standards of FCA participants and the academyâs commitment to fostering meaningful international collaborations across cultural and generational lines. The concert explores Chinese musical heritage and features two emblematic works: â Xian Xinghai: The Yellow River Concerto â performed by pianist Sophia Liuâ Zhanhao Gang / Chen Gang: Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto â performed by Belle Ting Belle Ting is known for her deep musical sensitivity, stylistic versatility, and a refined soloist presence that has led to engagements with ensembles such as the Cleveland Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan. Her work has been broadcast on ORF, Classic FM, IDAGIO, and medici.tv, and she continues to explore repertoire with a strong interest in French impressionism and contemporary expression. This prize concert stands as a celebration not only of Belle Tingâs artistic voice, but of FCAâs broader mission: to connect musicians across borders and give them the tools and visibility to grow artistically and professionally. Prize Concert : French Embassy & Institut Français in Denmark
The French Embassy in Denmark Kongens Nytorv 4, KĂžbenhavn KFCA Prize Concert: âDanish Spiritsâ April 22, 2026 â Institut Français & French Embassy in Denmark French Connection Academy (FCA) is proud to present a new prize concert featuring FCA laureates Alva Wadströmer (Sweden) and Romain Jansen (France), hosted in the elegant salons of the French Embassy and Institut Français in Copenhagen. This special concert, titled âDanish Spirits,â brings to life musical and cultural ties between Denmark and its European neighbours through a carefully curated program. The repertoire was selected and researched in close collaboration with FCA leaders, and reflects the 2026 FCA summer academyâs overarching theme of Nordic identity, cross-cultural connection, and artistic memory. Alva and Romain, both former participants in the FCA 2026 Academy, have designed a program that bridges French romanticism and Danish symbolism, while tracing lesser-known musical footprints - such as those of Clara Schumann, who performed multiple concerts in Denmark and engaged with leading Danish poets and composers of the 19th century. Program:â Maurice Ravel: Sonata No. 1 in A minor, M.12â Rued Langgaard: Violin Sonata No. 3, BVN 312â Rued Langgaard: Short Violin Sonata, BVN 372â Clara Schumann: 3 Romances, Op. 22â CĂ©cile Chaminade: Capriccio, Op. 18â Gabriel FaurĂ©: AprĂšs un rĂȘve Running time: 1h This event not only highlights the talents of two promising musicians, but also underscores FCAâs mission: to empower young artists to take responsibility for their artistic vision and to contextualize their repertoire with depth and cultural awareness. About French Connection AcademyFounded in Denmark and France, FCA fosters international collaboration among classical musicians through mentorships, masterclasses, and performance opportunities. The academyâs annual summer session in Odense brings together young talents and distinguished artists from across Europe. More information:đ www.frenchconnectionacademy.com
